  1. ATTRACTIVE ANTS
  2.  
  3. YOU'LL NEED:
  4. Construction paper
  5. Scissors
  6. Pencil
  7. Metal paper clips
  8. Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  9. Paper plate
  10. Small magnet
  11.  
  12. STEP 1
  13. Make an ant body by cutting an oblong shape (about as big as a peanut shell) out of construction paper. If you like, cut curves along the sides.

  15. With adult help, use a pencil to poke 3 holes in the ant body.  For the legs, place 2 paper clips into 2 holes next to each other.  Bend the points so they lie flat.

  17. STEP 2
  18. Turn the ant over.  For the antennae, place another paper fastener, point side up, in the last hole.  Bend back slightly.
  19.  
  20. Make as many ants as you like.

  22. STEP 3
  23. Draw some food on a paper plate for your ants to "eat."

  25. Put the ants on the plate.  Place the magnet underneath the plate near one of the ants.  Make the ant crawl by moving your magnet around the plate.
